Sea Level Rise - the force we cannot legislate away

Registration is closed for this event

Jeff Foley is a lines engineer and has a warning for Auckland. The nattering about the Unitary Plan was the easy debate. This one is going to be harder, take longer to resolve and have a way more pressing imperative. It could mean we need re-settlement within the city.

He took a practical and progressive approach to engineering: first a tradesman, then a technician, and at last the degree – for Jeff a BE.(Auckland) 1989.  Through the 1990’s, they researched and developed systems, techniques, software and hardware to improve the engineering and management of overhead lines.  Jeff went on to consolidate his consulting company, Infrastructure Asset Management Systems Limited (IAMSL), winning work around New Zealand and in Australia, Oman, Sweden, the USA, and China.  The systems delivered savings in excess of $50M to NZ.

Greg Hill is a resource management consultant and an accredited independent hearings commissioner and chair. He was one of the Independent Hearings Panel appointed to hear submissions and make recommendations to the Auckland Council on the Auckland Unitary Plan.  He has significant experience in chairing resource management hearings and has particular expertise in air, land, water and coastal policy issues as well as land use planning.

He was previously General Manager of Policy and Planning at Auckland Regional Council, and a principal author of the Auckland Regional Coastal Plan. Greg is a recipient of the New Zealand Planning Institute’s Distinguished Service Award
