The Future of Schooling

Registration is closed for this event

The Government has initiated reviews of many aspects of the current schooling system. In his presentation, Rob McIntosh will review the current state of schooling outcomes, what our young people need from their learning in the future and what this means for how we think about future schooling policy.

Rob McIntosh was for fifteen years up until 2012, part of the leadership team in the Ministry of Education with responsibility at various times for the development of education system strategy, research and data analysis and the design of policy across a range of school and tertiary education issues.  In 2013/14 he acted as Chief Executive of the Education Review Office and in 2014/15 he acted as the Director of the New Zealand Teachers Council.  He works now as an independent education strategy and policy adviser, both within New Zealand and internationally.  A particular interest for Rob through all his education work is the changing nature of teaching and learning and its implications for education systems.
