
UN Secretary General: We are sleepwalking to climate catastrophe. In facing this wake up call, Dr Howell will describe the lessons to be learned from Wesfamers; the work of the External Reporting Board; the National Climate Change Risk Assessment for New Zealanders; and the Dasgupta Review.
Dr Robert Howell has had a varied career in academia; governing and managing public, private and voluntary organisations; and advocating for change through political, religious, educational and civil society venues. His interest in philosophy and in particular ethics and ethical investment, has been combined with business governance and strategy expertise. He was one of a team of authors for Right Relationship Building a Whole Earth Economy and Strong Sustainability for New Zealand Principles and Scenarios. He published Investing in People and the Planet (2017) and Issues Behind the News (2020).
