According to Oxfam the richest 10% of kiwis control more wealth than the remaining 90%. Most New Zealanders who lose their ability to earn an income do not have enough savings to last a month without a significant drop in their standard of living. How can we increase the resilience of Kiwi families through building human capital, home ownership, protection against long term illness and a more comfortable retirement? Public opinion has lead on these issues before and can again.
