InvitationIf you were to describe New Zealand as a ship, what kind of ship would she be?

Would New Zealand be a jet boat, fast travelling and able to turn on a dime? Or would she be a tug boat that plods along, able to only go as fast as the weight she bears allows?

Maybe you see New Zealand as a container ship, a country geared to export goods offshore, or a passenger ferry, like the Interislander, designed to move people in comfort.

A full house heard Rod Oram, Rick Boven, Bernard Hickey, Arena Williams and Sel Pellett use the analogy of New Zealand as a ship to give their views on the state of the New Zealand economy and  suggestions for its future course. Respected experts in their field, they  shared wisdom they have built up over years of collecting data, distilling information and acquiring knowledge to help us know what this ship looks like, and what it needs to do to become the best it can be. You can watch the full event here.
